Levi - "We went up a buuumpy road in the Jeep. We walked across wood bridge with lots of different pieces of wood. I looked for the cache and standed up on the rock but it wobbled. Daddy lifted me up to the top. I saw the cache under a log in a hole in the rock. I got to show the way back and over the bridge with all the pieces of wood. We had to drive more up a long road and the Jeep wobbled and went up and down."
There is a cache off this trail at the top of Golden Horn Mountain that we've been wanting to check out. The cache description says that there is a 15-19 km hike taking between 5-7 hrs. Uggh. That would not be possible for us, not with a 3 and 5 year old plus me (Rachel) unable to exercise very much due to my auto-immune condition (dermatomyositis). It did say that quite a bit of it could be done with a 4x4 vehicle.
So we continued up Coal Lake Rd until we were close to the base of Golden Horn Mountain. It is very doable in a 4x4 vehicle and we think, with a couple vehicles and dry ground, we may be able to make it much closer to the cache by vehicle and have a much shorter hike. We may just be able to have all of us get to that cache. We will try it again another day with Danny and Sunniva.
While we were near the base of the mountain we met one of Rian's co-workers. Levi was excited about what they were doing and he took some pics.
Levi - "Daddy's friends were picking lots of circle berries. They were called blueberries, raspberries (actually were cranberries ~ Rachel), and mossberries. They had to watch out for bears because the bears might eat the berries. Their hands got berry juice on their hands. I picked some cranberries for Grandma. It was fun."
